Abstract:

We present an interactive demo that illustrates the performanceof our multi-agent-based system for trading ’green’energy. The system implements the NRG-X-Change conceptand uses real-life data for energy consumption. NRGX-Changeencourages prosumers to locally trade their excessof energy while payments are carried out using NRGcoins, which is a novel decentralized digital currency. We illustratethe performance of a real and typical neighbourhood in Belgiumwith 62 residential houses, 56 of them are consumerswhile the remaining 6 are prosumers. Participants can interactwith the demo by playing with energy consumptionand production, and analyzing in real-time the behaviour ofthe energy market and in turn the price for NRGcoins.
